Smart Digital Optics
Smart Digital Optics is a manufacturer of optical current transducers. These are Faraday effect devices for the measurement of both DC and AC currents up to 500kA at high or low voltage. The FOCS sensor head is a loop of sensitive optical fibre in a weather proof ring-shaped housing. The primary conductor passes through the ring. The fibre loop is linked to the control room by standard telecommunications optical fibre, passing first through the polymer link. All electronics are in the control room. The SDO optical current transducers provide unparalleled performance and ease of use and are available in a range of geometries and rated voltages.
